About Zambales

Zambales province stretches along the western coast of Luzon in Central Luzon, shaped by the Zambales Mountains and facing the West Philippine Sea. The area combines rugged terrain and coastline, with a population near 680,000. Visitors often focus on the San Marcelino municipality, especially Mabanglit barangay, known for its thorny vines, rivers, and forest trails. The 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption reshaped the landscape, creating lahar tracks still used today for overland travel. Typical visits last 2-3 days, with Clark International Airport as the nearest gateway.
